It's Official...

Vermont is now completely useless. Thank God we can get maple syrup elsewhere and fall foliage in New Hampshire and Maine.

Do these repulsive people think anyone really cares? Beyond something to ridicule of course.

Super Bowl

Well... now I have to root for perfection. I can NOT -- as a Cowboy diehard root for another NFC East team. Go Pats!

MLK Day

I am not down with the multicultural pablum that usually passes for intellectual discourse or whatever these days. That being said.... I got a Sunday paper from the Riverside Press Enterprise and there was a K-Mart ad insert. They had a black and white image of MLK, Jr. and the capital "K" of MLK and K-Mart was the same. MLK did some great things and he's a great American -- though his day should not be bigger than Abraham Lincoln's or George Washington's. Is his family shilling his name and likeness for K-Mart? I'm 100% capitalist, but that seems a bit vulgar. If I think about it 'll scan the image.

Patriots 21; Chargers 12

I gotta admit -- the Chargers are for real. If Rivers wasn't hobbled and LT had played who knows? That 3d and 2 run to the outside was an idiotic call -- easily stuffed by the Pats. Rivers is tough too. Oh well. Now that my 'boys are gone I'm rooting for Favre and the Pack.

New York Giants 21; Dallas Cowboys 17

THROW IT TO T.O.! How bloomin' difficult is that to understand? Hand the ball off to Barber in the second half?!? I'm usually no Monday Morning QB, but there is really no good reason the Cowboys should not have beat the Giants yesterday. It's not the Romo/Jessica thing -- Romo just folded under the spotlight. Aikman took a few years to mature -- hopefully Romo will do the same. Almost like Detroit 38 -- Dallas 6 back in '92.

Oh well. Now I'll have to root for Favre and the Pack this week.

Liberal Fascism update

Got book in the mail yesterday. I've only made it through the Introduction and so far so fantastic. I must put it down during the NFL playoffs. More to come.

Liberal Fascism

Jonah Goldberg's new book Liberal Fascism is out today. I just ordered it -- you should too. I'll post a more thorough review when I actually read it obviously, but given Goldberg's usual writing, it should be good and interesting. I love the cover art also -- on a less serious note.

Iraq is...

less violent than Venezuela. This story is from the NY Times right? FOX News or CNN? Wrong. Gateway Pundit. The blogosphere reports things our mainstream media never talk about -- like that Iraqi violence has plummeted the past three months and the surge is effective and most likely a success.

h/t Gateway Pundit.

Broken Clock

Even Bill Clinton is right sometimes. Some Ron Pauliacs were following Bill around and saying that 9/11 was an inside job. Clinton called them "nuts." Good for him.

I can't be any more clear. If you think 9/11 was an inside job then you are a pure 100% Grade A idiot. Period. Get some help.

Praying Globally

"Global" has been a key word around my campus these past few months. How to pray globally without being too unfocused? John Piper at his Desiring God blog (highly recommended) suggests this: Operation World. It gives a daily list of global concerns in its "Pray Today" link in the left column.
